Do Medicines Taken For A UTI Cause Fatigue And Tremors In The Feet?

I am 74 year old. I have neuropathy in both feet. I have been going to physical therapy since october and exercising at least 3 times a week at the hospital where I have worked with a therapist and meeting my goals. I have been diagnosed with a UTI and have completed a week of drug therapy with a tablet that turned my urine a bright orange for 3 days and 800 MG of Bactrim. My symptoms have subsided. Since I have completed my medication and since I have had this UTI, I have not felt up to going to my regular routine of exercise at the rehab center, I have been extremely tired and have been very unsteady and shaky on my feet for the past several days.Could this be from the drugs I was taking for the UTI. I also take Metaprolol and Lisinopril/hct daily and 81 mg aspirin

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms seem to be related to side effect of Bactrim use. Usually the symptoms go away on its own. If the symptoms continue you should do further examinations. I suggest:

- A complete blood count
- An urinalysis

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
