Do Pain Killers Cause Fluid Retention In The Body?

I am currently taking 4 10 mg of hydro codone dailey and my kidney function is pretty poor causing me to retain to much fluid. I take 40 mg of lasix twice dailey, sometimes it works sometimes it don,t for my CHF, could the pain killers cause this problem? I know there is stages with CHF that could cause this problem also.?

Hi,

Anti-inflammatory medications can cause fluid retention they can make you look puffy all over. Your symptoms can also be related to kidney dysfunction. I suggest you consult your doctor about the Lasix dose.
