Do The High Blood Sugar Level Harm The Babies At 32 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
I have had Gestational Diabetes in two previous pregnancies which was controlled with diet and a little insulin. This time (twin pregnancy) my sugar levels have been on the low side to begin with and manageable from the mid second trimester with diet. I am 32 weeks now and have about 2 readings (or less) 1 hour postprandial per week that are just over 140. Babies are healthy and at 31 weeks were on the 69th percentile for weight. Could occasional high readings be harming them? My fasting levels are usually high 80's to low 90's.
Hello With a history of gestational diabetes, you should continue checking your blood sugar level because high levels of glucose definitely affects the baby/babies.
However, your readings are are not problematic as such but you should continue taking readings routinely.
Hope this helps If you have further query, i will be glad to help. Dr Achuo
