Do Upper Body Exercises Cause Chest Pains?

I have had chest pains since I did some upper body exercise 2 days ago. I am overweight but have recently begun eating a raw foods diet and have watching my caloric intake (and have lost weight slowly and steadily for about a month now. The pain worsens when I stretch my shoulders back, bend over, breath deeply, or eat or drink anything today.

Hello

Thank You for contacting HCM.

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

My name is Dr Muhammad Ahmad & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way.
I understand your concern and being a Cardiology resident myself, i will hereby try to talk about differentials for your better understanding and alleviating the anxiety you must be in.

Cardiac pain:
1- They are NEVER sharp pain they are dull pains like soar muscles or a compression.
2-They start with work out and go away as you are at rest.
3- When its paining they in most case get relieved by a nitroglycerin tab under tongue.
4- Regular "work out cardiac pains" (angina) usually show up in stress testing.
5- They are very rarely present in men below 40.
6- Cardiac pain don't change with stretch or position change as yours is changing.

My opinion:
I must congratulate you on you determination and successful weight loss you are going through and i want to assure you that this doesn't look like a cardiac issue , this is due to your exercise and ass muscles get stronger and you lose weight, this issue is going to resolve by itself.

SUGGESTIONS:

I will suggest you to do exercise in right way under a good trainer, eat good and work out to make your muscles stronger and with time you will notcie that you are doing better than before.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow
up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
