Does Amixicillin Has The Side Effects Of Dizzy Spell And Light Headedness?

Having teeth pulled next Monday; dentist gave me 500 mg amoxacellin to take one every 8 hours; have taken them for 7 days; I quit taking them because of dizzy spells and lightheadedness; dizzy spells have been occurring every other day so far; age 70; male

Hi.Welcome to HCM. Amoxicillin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication is a penicillin-type antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Any medications at your age should be titrated. Most common side effects Amoxicillin are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain, blood or mucus in your stool. Severe dizziness might occur some times and u might be having the same. Its better u should report this to your treating doctor as soon as possible. Good luck for ur health
