Does Amlodipine Cause Swollen Foot, Dizziness, Vomiting And Chest Pain?

I was prescribed Amlodipine and have severe swelling in the foot with severe pain, dizzy, nausea, vomiting, chest pain, and was taken to the hospital and admitted. Now I am told it was not the med but gout I have had gout this is nothing like what I have experienced and I was released from the hospital yesterday and today my leg is swelling and still in great pain with the foot. Can this be the Amlodipine I am afraid to keep taking this. I started the med in February and was increase just 2 weeks ago to 2 tablets that is when the swelling began.

Hello
You were taking amlodipine for 10 -11 months but increased doses up to double and you develop edema , nausea , dizziness , vomiting , chest pain .
Yes all these symptoms may be due to the side effect of this drug .
Since you didn't mention the disease for which this was advised .
This is a calcium channel blockers and its side effects are as mentioned above .
It should be taken cautiously in patient having renal failure , congestive heart failure , hepatic impairment , elderly ( age not mentioned ).
In my opinion consult a cardiologist and get his opinion regarding about continuation of this medicine .
