Does Amlong A Medicine Have An Effect On Blood Pressure And Sugar Level?

HI i am 51 years i am using Tablet Amlong A. after using my BP has come down to 120 to 125 over 85 to 100, and before using my BP was 140 to 160 over 90 to 100, Please advise me is this tablet ok or should i change to Amlong 5 mg. besides, i have sugar on border line. Does these tablets having any side effect.

I understand your concern.
Amlong A contains a combination of Amlodipine (5mg) and Atenolol (25mg).
Amlong 5 mg contains only Amlodepine (5mg).
These medications are commonly used to treat high blood pressure.
All medications carry the risk of causing certain amount of side effects. Side effects commonly caused could be nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.
These medications is not known to have any effect on blood sugar level. To change the medications for controlling blood pressure, you need to consult Physician and then change accordingly to their advise. Even after the change, it needs to monitored periodically to check weather the blood pressure is under control.
If you take decisions on your own and change the medications, it may have ill effects like rebound hypertension and may land you up in dangerous situations.
