Does Augmentin Cause Itchy Rashes All Over The Body?

I have wide spread rash. Chest, back abdominal, legs and ankles. Itching is very bad especially when I am in bed at night. Ankles are extremely itchy and somewhat swollen. I had a mild middle ear infection for which I was prescribed augmentin. Started antibiotic last Friday. Could this be an allergic reaction, and what should I do now?

Hello,

Yes you may have developed an allergy to Augmentin (which is a type of penicillin). You should stop this treatment and revisit your doctor ASAP regards this to treat the rash and change the antibiotic.
