Does Benedryl Interact With Medication Used For Anesthesia?

My daughter is scheduled for a dental procedure that will require general anesthesia. She is 5 years old. She is healthy, however she has had seasonal allergies that has given her a constant post nasal drip. I have been giving her benedryl with a decongestant and it helps. Should I be concerned about her being put under general anesthesia while having this congestion?

Not really. benadryl is the sedative we generally use when other sedatives are risky (the elderly or those with very bad breathing and cannot have any breathing depression). It does not have drug itneractions either. But it is a sedative and she might be a bit more sleepy if the benadryl is there. This is minor and about the worst thing is slightly sleepier.
