Bio-C will not prevent diabetes. The only way he can reduce his risk is to lose a lot of weight. Doing the treadmill is helpful for burning calories and making his heart and lungs stronger, but by itself is not enough to reduce the obesity. He also needs to follow a low calorie balanced diet and change his eating habits. You might want to talk to a nutritionist or dietitian for the best advice on what kind of meals he should be eating. Avoiding sweets is just a small part of what is necessary. The balance of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins needs to be correct for best weight loss and health. Hope this helps.
