Does CT Brain Scan Cause Any Damage To Brain Cells?

I am 60 years old, 90 kg., 180 cm. I have diabetes which is balanced, and moderately high blood pressure. I have been referred to do a CT brain scan because of a shuffle in my walk. I am hesitant to do this, not because of cancer risk, but because of damage to brain cells. Please advise.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, an CT scan cannot cause damage to the brain cells. Second, you should ask a neurologist for a full neurological examination to pin point your problem before having an CT scan.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mustafa, Neurologist
