Does Cefalexin Cause Internal Bleeding?

Hi, My husband, age 76, took a round of cephalexin 500 mg for 10 days for a foot skin infection. He finished it about a week ago and now has pea size drops of blood on his underwear. No blood noticed in the toilet. Could the antibiotic be causing this?

Yes cephalexin can cause prolonged bleeding even though it is not a common side effect.
