Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been on cipro for 3 months. I have nt had any bad reaction but it does nt seem to be doing the job. I have a bad ear infection that will not go away. I have read alot of reviews and most seem to have problems after stopping the cipro. Is this right and my pharmist has said that 1 month on this is to much.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your history, sudden withdrawal, may cause antibiotic resistance. Kindly do culture examination if having discharge after ENT consultation. Complete course of antibiotic after consultation. Keep ear dry. You can take Tab. Tylenol for pain, continue with steam inhalation. Take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale
