Does Cortisone Shot Help To Treat Medial Tear?

I am a college athlete a starter on my team we have not begun season yet. I had an MRI last Monday and today I saw the school orthopedic specialist. He told me I have a minor medial tear and before I have surgery they will be doing a cortisone shot to see if that helps enough so I can play. I want to play as it is my senior season but am concerned about doing permanent damage. Any advice would help

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you has some tear in ligament and you want to play after cortsone tear.I will advise not to play after cortsone shotas pain will not be felt after th at and tear can increase in lengh . You should take rest after cortisone shot .You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful.
