Recently, I have developed a rash which started on my ears, then went to my hands and on Thursday spread to my cheeks and then the backs of my legs. I recently refilled my Dezilant and the patient into sheet provided me indicated that n possible side effect of life long term use can result in certain types of lupus. I did have rheumatoid flair in late Jan and consulted a rheumatologist who prescribed prednisone. My PCP had run many blood tests. The ANA was elevated. The CRP was normal. Could the rash began indicator of lupus? I wentbto urgent care yesterday and they upped my prednisone to 30 mg. I have an appt to see a dermatologist on Wed. What are your thought s?

Does Dexilant Cause Lupus?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Drug induced lupus is a very rare possibility with dexlansoprazole. Antihistone antibodies should be checked. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
