Does Gabapentin Cause Any Adverse Side Effects?
I m 68 yrs old and in relatively good health. I take 3 capsules/day of Gabapentin for symptoms of Trigeminal Neuralgia - jaw and tooth pain, and pain in a specific spot at the back of my head. My doctor suggested that I take the medication, to see if the symptoms subside. They did, but it was never really confirmed that I had the neuralgia. Apparently, it s hard to diagnose? I take several meds and would prefer eliminating anything that might be unnecessary. I m wondering if I can just stop taking it cold turkey without a problem, to see if the symptoms reoccur? Or, should I taper it off? Also, are there side effects related to this medication?

gabapentin in general have very few side effects among them headache is present anyway the chances of getting side effects from gabapentin is really rare

dizziness, drowsiness, weakness, tired feeling;
nausea, diarrhea, constipation;
blurred vision;
headache;
breast swelling;
dry mouth; or.
loss of balance or coordination.
