Does Guaifenesin Cause Diarrhea And Nausea?

can guaifenisen cause diarrhea and/or nausea? I have a sever cold with lots of congestion in my chest. So I ve been taking Mucinex for a few days. Its helped a lot, but now my stomach is upset and I have very loose bowels (almost diarrhea) in the morning.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

All medications have potential side effects. These are effects that may or may not occur.
Some potential side effects of guiafenisen.

Stomach upset and vomiting can occur only if higher than normal doses are used. If you are using the appropriate dose then it is unlikely that the symptoms are related to the medication.

It is possible that it is an unrelated infection.

I hope this helps
