Does Guillain Barre Syndrome Cause Positive ANA Test Results?
I recently have had bad upper body aches and ringing in my ears. I tested negative for lupus but positive for ANA. I had Guillain Barre syndrome 24 years ago and was advised that this may be the reason for testing positive for ANA. Is this possible or might I truly have something new which accounts for the aches?

ANA is a non-specific marker of autoimmune disease. It doesn't always mean presence of autoimmune disease. GBS also can lead positive ANA.
But you should get investigated further with full autoimmune cell panel study to exclude any possible autoimmune disorder if present. You can Consult rheumatologist for examination and further work up.
