Does I-pill Cause Delayed Menstruation?

I had taken ipill on 9th day of my periods within 9 hrs . I had spotting around 20th day and now my periods r delayed more than a month . My repetitive pregnancy test is negative and i am introduced to BP medicine later this month , I am hypothyroid patient too. Plz can u help me out why my periods r delayed as i m tensed up .

Hallow Dear,

I-pill is to be consumed within 72 hours of the unprotected sex to prevent the pregnancy. You have taken it within 9 hours of the unprotected sex. So you are well protected against the pregnancy.

These pills contain progestational medicine. Hence, few days after the pills, some little bleeding is known to take place. Moreover, these pills may delay the following period by few days to a week maximum. However, delay for more than a month cannot be due to these pills.

Please get your urine examined for pregnancy test. By this time, it will give reliable results. If you are not pregnant, you may take Tablets like Deviry for 5 days and then within 4-7 days, you would get the withdrawal bleeding. If you are pregnant, you may opt for Medical termination of pregnancy.

Please do not wait indefinitely; report to a Gynaecologist ASAP.
