Does Lisinopril Cause Tiredness And Low Blood Pressure?

My mother is 4' 11" and weight is 102. She is on 20 mg. of Lisinopril. She's feel very very tired which is not like her. She's been monitoring her blood pressure and it's 127/74 in the morning but drops to 92/57 by earlier afternoon. Is it ok to cut the pill in half or take every one tablet every other night?

Hello
First of all I will try to explain about the doses of LISINOPRIL in adults :Initially 2.5 mg once in a day to 5-20 mg once in a day.
Reduced doses necessary in CONGESTIVE CARDIAC FAILURE & ELDERLY PATIENT . Side effects are hypotension , ( as in your mother case 92/ 57 mm of Hg ) , hyperkalaemia headache , cough .
So in your mother case she feels tired because of hypotension , so in my opinion don't cut tablet in half or on alternate day .
In elderly patient I usually advise 5 mg once in a day and this is a sufficient dose of lisinopril .
This dose will keep blood pressure within normal limit.
Hope this is useful for you.
