hi, I have end stage copd, a bad back, so I am on a lot of meds. my question is does lortab, Norco 10-325 cause weight gain? I gained the weight when I stopped drinking beer and started drinking diet coke for a year I drank 12-24 per day. finally I quit that and started drinking beer (4 per day). I was prescribed the pain med. because I couldn t walk very far. long story short, before the soda I weighed 152lbs., I can t loose it. I also have gasterology problems, anytime I ingest anything, my stomach bloats. I would appreciate any thoughts u may have.
Hello and thanks for your question. Narcotics like Norco and Lortab do not usually cause weight gain. It is hard to lose weight if you are not able to exercise and this may not be possible with your COPD. It is a good idea to drink no alcohol or sodas and to mainly just drink water. As far as food, it is best to eat fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables and lean protein. If you cut back on carbs (sugars and starches such as bread, pasta, potatoes and rice) you may be able to lose some weight.
Good luck to you.
