Does Melatonin Help Cure Cough In An Infant?

Hello, my husband gave our 5 1/2 yr old a half of a 1mg melatonin, about a half hour later I noticed she was pretty stuffy, so I gave her some children’s benedryl, very little, less than required dosage for her age... I know melatonin is not really considered a drug, but I was a little concerned. Occasionally we give her either or, never both! Should I be concerned? Also , about 12 hours ago I gave her .5 of children’s allergy ( cvs) brand

You should not be concerned. Syrups containing Melatonin can be given in babies between 2 to 12 months old for cold relief.
