Does Metformin Affect To Stop Or Delay My Period?

Hello I have taken the METFORMIN (500mg) Under prescription of my DR to manage my blood sugar which was high and hopefully it reduce it which is good result , BUT I did not have my preiod this month , -- does metformin affect to stop or delay in period ? ----

I can understand your concern for the delayed period.

Metformin does not affect the period cycle and hence it is not likely to cause the delayed period.

Delayed period could have been caused by either an early pregnancy, hormonal imbalance, stress, emotional disturbances, or any underlying medical illness.

I would advise you to do a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy first.
If the test is negative consult your doctor for further evaluation.
