Does Metformin Cause Memory Loss, Anxiety And Lightheadedness?
I have side effects for short term memory loss, confusion, concentration issues, anxiety, lightheaded, acting and talking like I am drinking. I have been taking metformin for over 10 years and these symptoms keep getting worse. I am on disability from work based upon these symptoms. I can t get a diagnosis for a single reason. Could metformin be the reason? Email is YYYY@YYYY
Hello dear Greetings Regarding your symptoms of short term memory loss confusion concentration lightheadness anxiety dizzy spells following long term use of metformin I am suggesting that you have developed a condition called Hypoglycemia (low sugar) due to overdose of metformin
Metformin is antidiabetic drug used mostly by patient diagnosed with type 2 diabetes to control the blood sugar level and if taken for long duration or overdose will result in the above symptoms
In view of this please do a fasting blood sugar test if it is low take at least two cubes of sugar and visit the Emergency physician for clinical assessment and further drug prescription
I hope this helps Regards
