Does Mucinex-DM Cause Elevated Blood Pressure Levels?

Does mucinex-DM (600 mg & 30 mg dextromethorphan) or extended release Mucinex (1200 mg) make the BP more elevated. Usually his BP is well controlled, but tonight it is higher than usual. Maybe because he is having shoulder pain (arthritis) as well as more congested. The mucinex does help with the congestion.

Mucinex is n acetyl cysteine and it does not cause elevated blood pressure. In fact it doesn't have any action on blood pressure. The rise in BP might be due to pain. Severe pain may stimulate sympathetic system and can cause BP rise.
