Does Praluent 75mg Injectable Solution Have Any Adverse Health Effects?

I have been prscribed Praluent Injectable 75 mg. Reading the info with this med. makes me not want to take it. & Dr. said I would most likly feel like I have th flue. Ihave put off taking this med for the past 2 weeks. I have two young speciall needs kids to take care of and Im 72 yrs old. don't know if I can handle this. what are the odds of me feeling bad and for how long?

I understand your concern.
Praluent medication contains 'alirocumab', which is a human monoclonal antibody.
It works by helping the liver reduce levels of "bad" cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein, or LDL) circulating in blood.
Major side effects which could occur while taking alirocumab, and that may need immediate medical attention are as follows:
1. difficulty with breathing or swallowing
2. fever
3. hives
4. nausea
5. reddening of the skin, especially around the ears
swelling of the eyes, face, or inside of the nose
6. unusual tiredness or weakness
