Does Prednisone Cause Itchy Red Spots On Hands And Nape Of Neck?
I had a severe allergic reaction to something unknow had very bad hives all over body went I ER was given a hot of saline dork and famotadine pills w Benadryl and Atarax -all symptom vanish after a few hours. I was given 60 mg of prednisone to take for 4 days (no tapering off) along with two famotedine tabs (for seven days) and Benadryl (as needed). I am two days into the home treatment meant ion (prednisone, Ben and famotadine) I am experiencing very itchy small red spots that appear on hands/ fingers and nape of neck and earlobes. I took Benadryl and they went away but have since come back- I am trying not to take Benadryl all the time, want to see if the go away on there own but so far no. Do u know if this is just an aftershock (so today) from the initial Hives that sent me to the ER? Or might this be something new from the prednisone?
Ok, you originally had "severe allergic reaction" the prednisone later could not have gone backward in time to cause it. More of a continuing problem is likely due to the original problem and not a new one. So, it would seem more likely to be an aftershock.
