Does Procrit For Anemia Have Any Impact On The Sedimentation Rate Reading?

I am on Procrit. My initial haemoglobin reading was 9.6 and it has improved to 11.9. Today I am having some bloodwork tested for sedimentation rate (ordered by a different doctor) to check for inflammation/infection. (This in preparation for a total hip replacement.) Will the Procrit cause the sedimentation rate reading to be affected and not be an accurate indicator of infection?

The sedimentation rate is an indirect measurement of inflammation. It can be affected by an infection or by an autoimmune condition. Typically, a medication like procrit should not affect this test.
