Does Sandocal Cause Acidity, Depression, Aches And Fatigue?
I am 50, have been on amlodipine (Amlopres) 10 mg for close to six years, and two months ago was advised sandocal for vitamin D deficiency. I get occasional bouts of acidity, depression, aches in the knees and a abdomen and get tired. I seem to be ok when I take something sweet. Is it a side-effect of sandocal? Thank you. Samuel A, India

Hello,
As per your health query is concerned your problem is not related to medication (Sandocal) and it contains calcium only so no chance of any side effect at all. Do take antacid for acidity problem or you can take Pantoprazole and you need a prescription from your local doctor for it. Do visit to any clinical psychologist to confirm whether you have actual depression or not if found you can take medication like Sertraline.
For pain in knees and your abdomen do few tests like CBC with differential and a stool examination and do a physical examination by your doctor to pinpoint the diagnosis which is very important.
Regarding fatigue or weakness, I may say to correct your hemoglobin and vitamin B complex deficiency and if found low take injectable iron and vitamin B12 injections and once stabilized you can take oral capsules. Treatment of fatigue depends upon exact pathological reasons.
