Does Sertraline Intake Result In Building Up Of Mucus In The Lungs?

I am taking Sertraline HCL 25mg . Been taking them since the beginning of May. A couple of weeks after taking them I developed a cough, where flem comes up. Could this medication cause fluid to build up in my lungs? I I have had some tightness in my chest but no other symptoms.

Hi,

Sertraline does not cause breathlessness or mucus accumulation in the lung. However, conditions like pneumonia and bronchitis need to be considered. Please be advised to follow up with your primary provider to get a chest X-ray done.
