Does Sertraline Withdrawal Cause Dizziness And Fluctuating Heart Rate?

So I’m a 18 year old female and I am currently coming off of Sertraline which was originally prescribed for anxiety by my psychiatrist. Obviously I’m having some withdrawal symptoms but I’m just a little concerned at the frequency of this in particular. I’ve been dizzy and lightheaded since I got out of bed (approximately 16 hours now). My rest heart rate when lying down is between 62-66bpm and jumps up around 30bpm when I stand, the dizziness also gets worse when I stand or walk. I’m probably worried over nothing but I just thought that I should check to be safe.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You are right these may well be withdrawal symptoms , however the way you said that you feel giddy , and heart rate goes up on standing may also indicate postural hypotension , I would advise you check your blood pressure on sitting and then after 2 minutes of standing if there is more then 10 drop in blood pressure with standing then you should talk to your doctor , otherwise you can ignore it fro sometimes if persists then talk to your doctor
Till that I would advise you should take a lot of fluids and avoid dehydration

Hopes this clears your mind, I would be happy to answer if your have any thing else to ask in this regards.
I find this answer helpful
