Does TB Spread By Intercourse?

Hi, I am male 34, had lung TB and had undergone 12 months treatment. Now I and my wife are planning to have second issue. Are there chances that my wife or the baby shall get infected of this disease. And whether it is safe to have sex (lip kiss, intercourse etc) in all positions. Please advise.

Hi, thank you for asking Healthcare Magic.
TB is an air-borne disease and can easily spread from someone who has active lung TB to others. To know if one has active TB or not, you need to do sputum test. If it is positive then it means you have active lung TB and you need to be isolated. If your sputum test is negative for TB, then you can make love with your wife and have children. TB is not sexually transmissible.

I hope that answers your query. If you have more questions or any follow up query do not hesitate to write to us.
I wish you well
