Does Trazodone Hydrochloride Affect Pregnancy Test Results?

Hi I’m currently 2 days late for my period (normally 28 day cycle) have a few of the pregnancy symptoms, sore breasts, tearful, also don’t feel like I’m due on but all the pregnancy test have came back negative. I’m currently on 30mg traxadone hydrocloride could this cause negative results?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Trozadone does not interfere with the pregnancy test. However the test may be negative initially by its own as it is not 100 percent sensitivity. Second thing is that the symptoms you said are not very specific for pregnancy , so the possibilities are that you may have no pregnancy or the test is falsely negative at the moment. However nothing to blame Trazadone for. I would advise to wait few days, if you still don't get periods then repast the test, if negative then you can do an ultrasound.
