Does Z Pack Intake Cause Chest Tightness And Light Headedness?

I am taking z pack per doctors orders. This was supposed to be my fifth and fnal day of taking the medication. However, I just had an episode of shakes, tightness in the chest, light headed , not sure what my heart was doing. Could this be a reaction to the medication? It is almost as if my body was going into shock. I am better now. Still have that fifth and final pill to take but I am holding off. Thanks Mace

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Z pack (Azithromycin) can cause palpitations, chest pain & rarely abnormal changes in the electrical activity of the heart that may lead to a potentially fatal irregular heart rhythm; particularly in those with prolonged QT interval, low blood levels of potassium or magnesium, and slower than normal heart rate.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
