Dear sir i can understand your concern.
i am very sorry about your friend
insulin if taken by a non diabetic individuals in huge quantities causes hypoglycemia.
it also depends on route of administration.
intravenous route the onset of action will be very quick and subcutaneous route the action can be delayed by 20-30 mins depending on the type of insulin.

Short acting insulin if taken in huge dose it might be dangerous.

symptoms of low sugar or hypoglycemia.
1.excessive sweating

2.loosing of consciousness

3.some times fits.

the best treatment is immediate administration of 25% dextrose intravenously and in hospital they will give a hormone called glycogon to counteract the actions of insulin.

hope this explains
regards
