Does A Duiretic Reduce The Effectiveness Of Sildenafil Taken For Erectile Dysfunction In A 71-year-old?

have been taking sildenafil for approx five years (I am 71) for ED with good results. Approx 8 months ago began taking HCT 25 mg every AM as a substitute for a 1/2 tablet of metoprolol to reduce somewhat high potassium ; still take the 1/2 25 mg metoprolol in PM. For several months the sildenafil seems less effective (difficulty achieving orgasm, though have erection). Is the diuretic effect of the HCT a potential issue that I should discuss with my physician? Thank you !

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Metoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide may cause erection problems. So please consult your treating doctor and better to change alternate medication for erectile dysfunction.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
