Does A Forehead Swelling Due To Injury Need Further Medical Attention?

five year old hit forehead with another child on playground. Immediate goose egg on forehead. Applied ice which took down the bump considerably. He appears to be fine - no nausea, no headache, etc. This happened at 7:00 and he went to be at 9:00. I keep checking on him and all seems normal. Is this ok?

Hello. I just read through your question. Because he didn't lose consciousness at the time of the fall, the is nothing to worry about. As long as he doesn't experience any vomiting within the irsty 24 hours, there is no concern. The swelling he experienced is expected and icing it was the eight thing to do. He is fine.
