Does A Low BP With Sickness Need An ER Visit?

My 22-year-old son is feeling sick and is dizzy on standing up. His bp is 90 over 48 (on home monitor). Should I take him to the ER? He is 5 feet 11 inches and healthy, but has a hx of opiate abuse (though he denies any recent opiate use). Is his bp too low?

Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I think the BP is too low. He would require intravenous fluids. The dizziness is due to low BP. You must take him to ER. Opiate abuse can be dealt with later on.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
