Does A Painful Knot On The Shin Due To Injury Need Medical Attention?

I got hot in the shin by a line drive during a softball game 4 1/2 weeks ago and it swelled up and bruised. Now there is little swelling and the bruise is gone but there is a knot that is hard as bone where I got hit that hurts with the smallest touch, even if I pull the blanket over it. Is this something I should worry about?

Hello
Thanks for posting
The knot looks to be because of haematoma ( subperiosteal haematoma).you may apply thrombophob gel along with ibuprofen and trypsin/chymotrypsin to reduce pain and swelling.
Hope this helps.
Take care
