Does A Remaining Testicle Lump After A Hernia Operation Need Treatment?

Hello Doctors, I have a question. After my Hernia Op my left testicle became very swollen. It has came down now, that was about a year ago. However, I still have a small lump inside the sack and attached to the testicle that aches sometimes. Is this normal?

Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, let me advise you, that testis swelling after hernia surgery, is due to inflammation. It may last upto a week only.
No residual lump should remain there, after one year.
The best way to find out the cause for the lump and pain in your testis, is to get an ultrasound doppler scan of the scrotum.
You're welcome to send the scan report here, in my name, as a direct question, for an expert opinion.

General Surgeon Dr. Katherine Panganiban's  Response
hi.

based from your description, it could be a fibrotic tissue formation. it's similar to scarring process, only on the inside. if it bothers you, it is best if you follow-up with your urologist for clinical evaluation. further diagnostics and subsequent management will be directed accordingly.

hope this helps.

good day!!
