Does Alcohol Consumption Reduce Platelet Count In Blood?
my dad has myolodysplasia and was told he could not have any type of alcohol because it would decrease his platelet count, is this true? He is 87,has had 3 open heart surgeries and was diagnosed with this, after having low platelet counts and had tests done.

I understand your health concern, if I am your doctor I suggest you that it is partly true. If you consume high amount of alcohol it will affect the liver which is the accessory production house of various blood cells. So drink it but in few limits that will Aldo good for health.
