Does An Allergic Reaction Cause A UTI?

I had intercourse just over two weeks ago. We used a latex condom. After two days I experienced burning down there. Tried baking soda bath and hydrocortisone cream as well as prednisone. My urination frequency increased and I tested negative for UTI. I am still going pee every 15 mins. Can this be caused from an allergic reaction?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Women may be prone to UTI by the use of diaphragms, spermicidal foams, condoms, perfumed soaps, deodorants, high friction during intercourse in certain positions, E. coli, Yeast infections & dehydration can trigger UTI for the bacteria starts multiplying in the urinary tract. Yes, allergies do trigger UTI. Take plenty of water, take care of your hygiene, avoid sex for a couple of days. You are UTI negative but get your partner have his urinalysis done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As per the narration and my clinical experience co relation, the current condition is likely to be sterile pyuria where one does not get positive report of infection in the urine.
* This issue does not relate to latex sensitivity as already 2 weeks have been passed.

Hope this clears your query.
Wishing you fine recovery.
