Does An Allergy Or Dry Eyes Cause Goopy Eye Discharge?
I have been on an antibiotic for "pink eye" for 2 weeks. I didn't have itching, just a goopy eye...not green or yellow. (I went before that could happen). I also didn't have grittiness. I just wanted to stop it before it got to those stages. (I have had pink eye in the past). So, 2 weeks later, I still have some sticky goop...still not green or yellow. Still no itching or grittiness. I am just looking on here to see if this is being caused by allergies, or something else, like dry eyes. I don't want to use the drops unnecessarily. As a piano player, it is pretty important that I can see/focus clearly! Thank you.
Yes, allergies can also cause eye discharge and it is called a root eye discharge. But allergies will cause severe itching and watering. It needs a prolonged course of anti allergics for the same.
