Does An Increased Dosage Of Donepezil Cause Zig Zag Veins On The Thighs?

My husband woke up and found a zig zag vein from the top of his thigh to his calf that just popped up. He has lewybody dementia and his medication of Donepezil was recently increased from 5mg to 10 mg. Could this have caused this symptom. If not what could be going on?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The zigzag veins may be due to varicose veins and not related to Donepezil. Donepezil does not cause swollen vein over the legs. You can consult a general surgeon and plan for a venous Doppler.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
