Hello
Budecort is a steroid and having following side effects , if uses for prolong time .
Water retention, Cushing's syndrome , calcium reabsorption ( osteoporosis ) , bone become weak ( fragile bones) , loss of skin collagen dryness , irritation, epistaxis , weight gain .
These are few side effects .
When patient visit my clinic with such symptoms ( bronchitis or allergic bronchitis as your son is having), I prescribe my patient "BAMBUTEROL HYDROCHLORIDE " 0.2 mg / kg body weight once or twice in day till complete cure . I also advise them to take monteleukast syrup 0.2 mg / kg body weight once or twice in day.
As these two drugs are very very safe even for prolong period and without any major side effects.
Since this is a prescription medicine , so consult a physician and get his prescription.
Good luck.
