Does Burning Sensation In Scrotum After Application Of Body Oil Require Attention?
I was applying some body oil to my chest after getting out of the shower. Some dripped down to my scrotum and it started burning one side. I jumped back in the shower and washed it off with cold water. One of my balls felt a little weird, like a little separated piece was floating around it. I put on my briefs & have been sitting in one position for over an hour to reduce irration. It doesn't hurt anymore, should I be worried?
Hi, read your history of inadvertent application of body oil to the scrotal skin which has caused irritation. I would advise you to go back to the shower, take baby-soap and thoroughly clean again with lots of soap till all the traces are removed. Do this in a warm water as this will relax the scrotal skin to become larger as a natural response and once all the oil will be removed make the are dry with a hair dryer. The soap helps to remove the oil by saponification and this is important to keep no trace of oil as if it remains in the corrugated skin can harm permanently.
If this is done carefully and immediately, yo do not need any additional treatment as the body too heals nicely. Try not to apply anything locally, at the most you can take an antihistamine and oral steroids for a few dosage to tide over the crisis.
