Does Calcium Deficiency Cause Fluid Retention In The Legs?

i have HBP and am on both losartin and verapimil and am retaining water in my feet and legs this should not be happening since both are supposed to prevent kidney damage from my diabetes I take metphormin for the diabetes I am also calcium poor and iron poor could this have something to do with that?

Hi,

Calcium deficiency less likely to cause edema. They may present with tetany due to hypocalcemia.

Cardiac failure or renal failure or anemia or calcium channel blockers intake may cause pedal edema.

You can also check serum calcium levels and serum vitamin D levels. Check for cardiac and renal function status.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
