Does Chronic Constipation In A 20-year-old Need Medical Attention?

My daughter age 20 has chronic constipation which is getting worse. No relief without a laxative of any kind). She was on a high protein diet and I’ve stopped that as of today. What should she take to get regular? The cycle is getting worse. Should she see a doctor?

Hello,

The constipation of your daughter seems to be related to a high protein diet. I suggest switching to a high fibre diet and liquids. I also suggest using suppositories or enemas to relieve the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
