Does Continued Use Of PPIs Cause GERD?

I,ve been on ppis for my gastritis problem since 1 yr.In between i tried to stop them but i had either dyspepsia or heart burn whenever i discontinued. But i was firm to discontinue due to side effects ,so instead of taking 2x a day i started taking 1x and used some unani medicines.I even have constipation n bloating problem. Then after few weeks i got really bad heartburn at night and when i went to gastro they did endoscopy and found severe esophagitis and lax les.Now iam again on ppis 2x. so plz tell me why i got gerd that i din't had b4 .Is it due to ppis,or les?once les becomes lax can't it become normal again? how to stop ppis without any symtomps.

Hello
You are taking proton pump inhibitors and still having hyper acidity , gastritis , heart burn , dyspepsia as well constipation bloating .
Symptoms aggravate whenever you stop the PPI.
Constipation , diarrhea, dyspepsia , dizziness , G I discomfort , flatulence , abdominal pain and many more are the side effects of PPI.
Following measures may help you:
1 Try raising the head of your bed about 4 inches with blocks. It also might help to avoid eating or drinking for 2-3 hours before you lie down. To control stomach acid one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them or excessive tea or eat chocolates or spicy or greasy foods . Also take some antacid but if symptoms are severe you may need antacid which contains oxetacine.
2 Tension and anxiety are other common reason of such symptoms.
3 Overeating is the another cause of such symptoms .
When such patient visit I prescribe them to take REBAMIPIDE 100 mg 2-2-2 for 3-6 months with avoidance above mentioned .
Hope this will help you.
