Does Deficiency In Vitamin And Iron Cause Painless Bruises?
Hello I have about 5 small black and blue bruises on my upper thigh. I got a CBC done 3 months ago everything came back normal except for a deficiency in vitamin D and iron. Could this be the causes of the black and blues? I could ve hit my leg but I don t remember doing so and they don t hurt. I have no other bruises on my body. I would also like to mention I m very pale and thin skinned and bruise easily if I bang something
Hello! I read carefully your query and understand your concern. The deficiency of Vitamin D cause bone pain and muscle weakness and Iron deficiency cause anemia. The vitamin D deficiency isn't directly associated with spontaneous bruises. Before telling that these deficiencies are the cause of your spontaneous bruises you need to do some examinations to exclude other causes.
Bruise irrespective of location without trauma needs a little work up such as : -Hematological assessment is advised, which includes PT,APTT,INR,platelets count.Only complete blood count is not enough to evaluate the ability of your blood to coagulate.
I suggest to consult a physician and get the tests done in order to sort out the etiology of these signs.
